APP Modified Bitumen Waterproof Membrane
APP modified bitumen waterproof membrane is a high‑performance bitumen‑based waterproof sheet. It adopts APP (atactic polypropylene) to modify bitumen, uses polyester mat (PY) or glass‑fiber mat (G) as reinforcement substrate, and is covered with PE film, fine sand, schist or aluminum foil protective layer on the surface.

Main Specifications
Thickness: 3mm, 4mm, 5mm Width: 1000mm, Roll length: 10m Two types: Type Ⅰ and Type Ⅱ. Type Ⅱ has better high‑temperature resistance and low‑temperature flexibility, mostly applied for exposed projects and high‑temperature regions.
Core Features
Excellent high‑temperature resistance: Type Ⅱ can resist temperature up to 130℃, no flowing or slipping under strong sunlight. Suitable for high‑temperature roofs in southern areas and exposed waterproofing applications. Weathering & aging resistance: Resistant to UV radiation and ozone. It hardly pulverizes or cracks under long‑term outdoor exposure and delivers long service life. Superior mechanical performance: Polyester‑reinforced version features high tensile strength, tear resistance and elongation to accommodate substrate settlement and minor cracks. Glass‑fiber‑reinforced version provides good dimensional stability with high cost‑efficiency. Corrosion resistance: Resistant to acid, alkali and underground water corrosion, ideal for damp underground environments such as basements and tunnels. Proven construction technology: Hot‑melt installation is the mainstream method. Roll out the membrane after melting its bottom surface by flame heating. Lap joints fuse into an integral body for reliable sealing. Multiple surface options: PE film (for non‑exposed use), sand‑finished surface (can serve as direct protective layer), aluminum‑foil surface (reflects sunlight to reduce roof temperature for exposed roofs).
Application Scope
Waterproofing for flat and sloped roofs of various buildings; bottom slabs, side walls and top slabs of basements; civil air‑defense projects, subways, tunnels and utility tunnels; bridges and parking lots; industrial plants and warehouses. Also applicable for renovation and repair of old roofs.
Key Construction Points
The substrate shall be flat, solid and dry. Make arc‑shaped corners for internal and external corners, and lay additional layers for weak joints in advance. Heat evenly during hot‑melt installation. Long‑side lap width ≥80mm, short‑side lap width ≥100mm. Fix membrane ends with metal pressure strips and seal edges. Inspect finished work for hollowing and edge warping after completion.
